Salim al-Kupar is Sly Cooper's Arabian ancestor who was frequently said to hold the stealth of 40 thieves.
When he was younger, Salim used to be a dashing, agile thief. However, after he lost his gang, Salim became lazy and unmotivated. Salim was a part of a gang called the "Forty Thieves", which was founded by
Salim in 960 AD, when he was only 20 years old. Evantually, members of his gang retired or passed away, leaving Salim and three other gang members to pursue one last heist.
When the Cooper Gang travel in time and meet Salim in Arabia, this sparks back up some motivation for him, as he agreed to join and help the Cooper Gang, postponing his retirement from thievery. During his time with the Cooper Gang, they set out to free one of the members of the Forty Thieves from imprisonment. Cooper fans got to experience a new skillset as they were able to use Salim's "Climbing Cobra" ability, which allowed him to quickly ascend ropes, chains and poles to escape attacks. Salim also had the ability of using a flying carpet, for gliding purposes (much like Sly's own paraglider).
After completing his adventures with the Cooper Gang, Salim finally retires and takes a big nap. He then dreams up a new business idea: parking his camel around the Arabian City and selling snacks to hungry customers. This proved to be very successful as Salim started his next chapter in life.
